What's the difference between my bank, an authorizing network, and Merchant Card International?
Most bank do not do there own processing. They contract with a third party to sign their customers up and have no control over the customer service or the pricing. In other words your bank has nothing to do with your merchant account. A payment gateway provides a "bridge" between the merchant's website (using a secure Internet connection from the merchant's website to Merchant Card International) and the processor (using leased lines from Merchant Card International to the processor).
Why do I need Merchant Card International if I have a merchant account?
Merchant Card International allows you to use your merchant account and process live, secure credit card transactions over the Internet and phone lines at a very competitive rate.
Can I process with Merchant Card International if I am not a U.S. business?
You must have a US business address and a US bank account to process with Merchant Card International.

Where are my transaction funds deposited?
The funds from you credit card transaction are deposited into the account that is associated with your merchant account bank. This is the same account that is on the voided check that was submitted with your contract.
Can I view a report of fees charged against my account by Merchant Card International?
If you subscribe to Mymerchanview or ROL your processing information are available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How long does it take to receive funds after my transactions are submitted?
The amount of time it takes to receive credit card funds depends on your credit card processor. Typically the time is 48 hours.
Can I sign up with Merchant Card International online?
Not at this time but we hope that you will be able to do this soon
How will I know when the setup of my account is complete?
Once your account has been approved, you will receive notification via email or by a telephone call from your representative.

Which credit cards will I be able to accept?
Merchant Card International can process VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB.
How do I process AMEX transactions?
In order to process American Express credit cards, you need to apply with American Express for an American Express Merchant account. We can assist you with this process. Once the account is approved, you must provide the information to us so this can be added to your merchant file
How do I process Discover transactions?
In order to process Discover credit cards, you need to apply with Discover for a Discover Merchant account. Once the account is approved, you must provide the information to us

Yes, by calling the toll free number provided to you by our representative.
What do I need to do to cancel my account?
In order to cancel your account, Merchant Card International requires that a 30-day written notice be submitted via fax or US mail. On the cancellation notice please verify the purpose of the account cancellation, along with the company name, merchant number, signature of the primary contact on record, and an email address to which a confirmation can be sent. Please do not assume your account is cancelled until you receive confirmation via email.

What is AVS?
Address Verification System (AVS) matches the known address information on file at the cardholders issuing bank’s AVS database against the billing address information provided by the consumer/merchant.
How long does it take for a transaction to take place?
Transactions submitted are processed in real time, and take approximately 1-3 seconds to return a response.
